Enigmaエニグマ
エニグマは、サンドラ（元アラベスク）「マリア・マグダレーナ」（85年）やヒューバート・カー「エンジェル07」（85年）などのヒット・チューンを手掛けた敏腕プロデューサー、マイケル・クレトゥのソロ・プロジェクトである。
デビュー・アルバム『サッドネス（永遠の謎）』（90年）はセンセーショナルであった。グレゴリアン聖歌にアンビエント、ダンス・フロア・サウンド、そして初期アラン・パーソンズやピンク・フロイドなどプログレッシヴ・ロックからの影響を融合し、唯一無比な音世界を築き上げたのだ。それは、希望／絶望／癒しといった人生における主要素が詰め込まれたスピリチュアルなものであり、そのミステリアスな響きはニュータイプのヒーリング・ミュージックとして大きな支持を獲得する。
その後、『ザ・クロス・オブ・チェンジズ』（94年）、『エニグマIII』（96年）と作品を重ねると共に、エスノ・テイストを加味。音は進化（深化）を続け、壮大なスケールで鳴らされている。
