    チャネリング系プログレッシヴ・ロックの帝王、ゴング。60〜70年代当時もっとも先鋭的なサウンドを鳴らし、今なお絶大な影響力を誇る歴史的バンドである。確かに、その膨大な数の音源、（一般的には）難解極まりない音楽性、目まぐるしく入れ替わるメンバー……に起因してか、ロック・ファンにとって何かと敬遠されがちな存在だ。しかし、ジャズ／サイケ／ガレージ／ブルース／モンドなど、激しく異種配合され突然変異的に生まれるフリーキー・サウンドは言うまでもなく圧倒的。一度聴いたら瞬時に惹きつけられるであろう強烈な磁場を形成している。
    で、何から聴いたらいいのか解らない、という貴方にお薦めなのが、71年に発表された『CAMEMBERT ELECTRIQUE』。スペーシーかつジャジーなゴング・サウンドが確立された記念碑的作品であり、プログレ・ファンはもちろんのこと音響系を好むお方にも大満足な名盤中の名盤である。
