４歳の時から顔馴染みだったという英国エセックス州出身のデイヴ・マクファーソン（vo&g）とジョー・モーガン（b）が、11歳の時（96年）にジャム・セッションを開始。２年後にサイモン・テイラー（dr）が加入する。当初はDrownedと名乗っていたが、その後、InMeに改名。活動も次第に本格的となり、デモ・テープ作成やライヴ出演などに邁進し、01年に＜Music For Nations＞と契約を果たす。02年７月、シングル「アンダードーズ」でUKデビュー。モダン・ヘヴィネスを通過した壮大かつ重厚なグルーヴと卓越したメロディ・センスが各方面から絶賛を浴び、一躍その名を轟かせた。03年２月には１stアルバム『オーヴァーグロウン・エデン』をリリース。
