    Ice-Tアイス・ティー

    モノホンのギャングスタ上がりであるラッパー、アイス・T。ゆえにギャングスタの日常（暴力やドラッグなどの一般人からすれば非日常的なこと）を描いたリリックは、非常にリアリティと説得力があるものだ。クールな口調で語られるそれらのリリックは、聴き手をジリジリと追い詰めていくような緊迫感に満ちている。サウンド面では、デビュー作『コールデスト・ラップ』（83年）に見られるように、初期はアタックの強いエレクトロ・ヒップホップを展開。その後は、不穏な空気の漂うハードコアなトラック使いが中心になっていった。
    またアイス・Tは、へヴィ・メタルなミクスチャー・ヒップホップ・バンドのパイオニア的存在、ボディ・カウントのリーダーとしても活躍。『ロラパルーザ』（91年）など97年までに約４枚のアルバムを発表している。この『ロラパルーザ』に収録されているシングル「コップキラー」は、そのタイトル通り警察に喧嘩を売ったナンバーであり、その過激さゆえか、当時話題をさらった。とはいえ、主演映画『ニュー・ジャック・シティ』では、ちゃっかり警官役を演じていたりもするのだが……。
