  Parquet Courts、プロデューサーにDanger Mouseを迎えた新作『Wide Awake!』を5月にリリース

  NYのガレージ・パンク・バンド、Parquet Courts（パーケイ・コーツ）が5thアルバム『Wide Awake!』を5月18日（金）にリリースすることが発表された。 Danger MouseことBrian Burtonをプロデューサーに迎えた本作について、バンドのギタリスト／シンガーのA. Savageは次のように語る。「Parquet Courtsのアルバム全ての背景にある精神は、どの作品にも、より良い変化が必要だということ。そのためには、自分の安全地帯から出るということが重要なんだ」 「おれは、自分がパンクとファンクに恩恵を受けたアルバムを作っているということに個人的に満足していた。その一方で、Brianはポップ音楽のプロデューサーで、今までにも、非常に磨き上げられた作品を作ってきた人だ。そんな、筋が通っていないところが気に入ったのさ」。 Grace Jones、The Upsetters、Townes Van Zandt、Parliament、Augustus Pabloなどを手本に、新たなアイディアを模索していたAustin Brownと、Youth Of Today、Gorilla Biscuits、Black Flagらのように、逆上と歓喜という2面性に触れることを試みようとしたA. Savageが本作の作曲を手がけている。 そんな本作から、現在「Almost Had To Start A Fight / In And Out Of Patience」が公開されている。
